Helping Those Who Help Us

Foundation 58 is a 501(C) 3 nonprofit organization, established in memory of Hazleton City Deputy Fire Chief Gabriel A. Mhley, dedicated to providing financial assistance to firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical service personnel who have been diagnosed with cancer.
When a career or volunteer emergency responder is diagnosed with cancer, it becomes a tragedy for that individual, his or her family and the community. Sometimes the kinds of cancer these heroes are struck with are particularly aggressive and can affect people in these professions at alarmingly young ages, because of the nature of their work and their constant exposure to toxic materials. Foundation 58 was created to help firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical service personnel across the United States get some of the financial assistance they need to battle their disease. We are a non-profit, 501 (C) 3 organization, and we exist because of generous donations and sponsorships. You, too, can receive a charitable donation deduction for any monetary contribution to our organization.
Since 2007, we have donated more than $25,000 to 10 families in Pennsylvania, Texas, South Dakota and Ohio whose financial need was straining their budgets and their already-fraught emotions. Read some of their stories. You’ll be touched by their courage and dignity, and moved by how much impact a charitable donation can have. Click to find out the story behind Foundation 58. Thank you for visiting our site. Please consider making a charitable donation to our cause. For as little as $1 per month (deducted automatically only once a month), you can help a determined 501 (C) 3 organization help these brave men and women who may have been stricken with a terrible disease. Here’s how to donate now.
