Foundation 58 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to fire fighters, police officers, and emergency medical service personnel, throughout the United States, who have been diagnosed with cancer.
The foundation reaches out to those in need by developing a nationwide support system to help offset financial costs. Costs such as treatment costs not covered by the patient's insurance company, prescription costs, travel/lodging costs that occur when traveling to a medical center for treatment, and homecare equipment costs.
Foundation 58 achieves the nationwide support system through education of the disease and of the cause, communication between Fire, Police, EMS and other organizations as well as the public, fundraising, and donations.
The goal of Foundation 58 is to have:
- 85% of all money raised used for providing financial assistance
- 15% of all money raised used for fundraising and other costs
