On Friday July 18, 2008 Foundation 58 granted Captain Peter Stewart of the Butler Fire Department $1,000 to help with medical bills related to his battle with cancer.
It is with a heavy heart this evening that I foward this statement from the City of Butler - Bureau of Fire:
NOTICE of PASSING
It is with deep regret and sorrow that the Butler City Fire Fighters, IAFF Local #114, wish to notify you of the passing of Captain Peter C. Stewart, a thirty-two year veteran of the Butler City Fire Department. Pete passed away shortly after 8 pm this evening, at home with his family by his side, after a short battle against cancer. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
